{The Harvest House at Lost Creek Winery Wedding | Leesburg, Virginia | Tammy & Jeff}
Ahhhhh!!!! Tammy and Jeff are one of the sweetest couples on this planet!!! On top of that, their family and friends filled their day with so many sweet stories which made it so special! I absolutely LOVED getting to work with them for their wedding! They were my first wedding at The Harvest House at Lost Creek Winery too, which was awesome!
Ok, so I have to tell you how these two met! But, seriously, pull out the Disney Vault cuz this is SUCH A GREAT ONE!!! They literally met over a hummingbird! LITERALLY!! #DisneyPrincess Tammy said she was coming out of church one Sunday, and this guy (ahem, enter Jeff) was holding a hummingbird in his hand! It had been injured and he picked it up. And, ladies and gentlemen, THAT is what got them talking!! The rest is history.
Again, I cannot say enough how sweet this couple is and their story! Jeff has a loooong story of when he came to Virginia and was getting plugged in with a church and finding his faith in Christ, how at the time he would hike through Bears Den. There was a rock he would always go to sit and think, pray, or read his Bible. Once they started dating, he eventually showed her his special spot, which then became special to the both of them. SO OF COURSE, when it was time to propose, he got on his knee at one of the spot that meant so much to them.
After saying all that, do I even need to tell you where their engagement session was? Or is it already implied, haha. We went to Bears Den in the early fall and had a marvelous evening walking along a couple of the trails and taking pictures. Of course, we ended the session with some photos at the spot where Jeff proposed to Tammy! To see their GORGEOUS session AND their adorable spot, click here!
The Wedding Day
When their wedding day arrived, everyone was a buzz with celebration! Tammy had an endless stream of family and friends coming through her door all morning. Haha, and once Jeff arrived at the venue, he received the same. Everyone wanted to see them and wish them the best! Jeff and Tammy also decided to save their first look for down the aisle. It was so beautiful to see the anticipation grow as they got ready, and it made walking down the aisle so special.
The day itself went so smoothly! Probably one of the smoothest wedding mornings I’ve seen! Tammy is pretty organized, so all the details flowed flawlessly all morning. On the morning of, it looked like it was going to rain, but we all prayed that it would hold off for the outdoor ceremony and it did!! The weather was nice and mild for the ceremony and photos after. Then, it AS SOON as we came in from their bride and groom portraits, IT POURED!!! I mean – cats – and – dogs – type of rain pour.
Praise the Lord for holding off the rain!! It came in perfect timing for dinner and dancing. Which, I’ve gotta mention, their reception was lit! The bride’s family is a big Italian family, so…enough said. Haha, but for real though, Tammy and Jeff’s guests kept the dance floor HOT all night!! 🔥
A Few Special Details
There were two beautiful details to this wedding that I just absolutely loved and I have to share with you all! For starters, Tammy’s favorite flowers are sunflowers. Not only were there sunflowers everywhere, but her engagement ring and wedding band resembled a sunflower! Oh my goodness, my detail-loving heart.
The second thing that was soooooo sweet is, remember when I mentioned that Tammy & Jeff met over a hummingbird? Well, during the ceremony, they took a moment to hand out gifts to their parents and grandparents, and the gifts were ceramic hummingbirds! I just LOVED this representation of their love that they gifted their family with.
Tammy & Jeff, you guys are so beautiful and I am just over the moon that you both asked me to photograph your wedding!! It is SO cool to see how God has brought you both together and I am so excited for all that He continues to do in your life!!
