Ben & Kate’s Wedding | Morningside Inn | Frederick, Maryland
Here’s to photographing sweet friends and their weddings!! It’s been such a blessing for me to be the wedding photographer for several friends this past summer, and Ben and Kate were one of them! As a Virginia wedding photographer, it’s fun to head into Maryland every once in awhile. This time, I got to go to the beautiful countryside of Maryland for Ben & Kate’s wedding at the Morningside Inn!
Their wedding was in June, which was absolutely PERFECT timing!! Lemme tell ya, one thing you should know about Virginia summers is this: they’re HOT!! Especially in July!! Up to 103+ degrees with full humidity. Not kidding!! (I don’t know how George Washington lived without air conditioning haha😉) So they chose the perfect time and weather, just a few weeks before the heat really kicked in, and we got to enjoy a beautifully mild 80 degree day.
And I love the story of how Ben and Kate met! It’s so sweet!! They were both attending the young adult’s group at Cornerstone Chapel. Kate heard from a friend about this guy named Ben, who was super sweet, loved rock climbing, and had a cool beard (ALL things on her list). She met him later on and loved everything about him from the first time they met. EVEN CUTER is the fact that when she first came to young adults that night, Ben saw her from afar and, not knowing who she was, felt the Lord whisper to his heart that she was the girl he would marry. (Say it with me now: Awwwwwww!!!!)
Fast forward to a few weeks later. They started dating and realized that they were a totally perfect match! Ben proposed to her 8 months later on an evening hike at Bears Den Overlook. (Which, subsequently, is also where we photographed their engagement session! Click to see their GORGEOUS mountain engagement!!).
Of course, their wedding day was just as sweet! The bride and bridesmaids got ready at the bride’s parents home, and then traveled to the Morningside Inn. I loved so many things about their wedding–from the succulents in the bouquets, to the excitement from saying ‘I do.’ However, I think my favorite part about their wedding (besides them getting married) were the toasts and the dance party afterwards!! The bride’s sister gave such a sweet toast, I almost cried! During the reception, the bride and groom had a huge group of friends that hit the dance floor and kept it hot ‘til the end of the night! Such a great memory!
I hope you enjoy their pictures as much as I enjoyed their wedding!! Start scrolling to see the details of their day!
