This anniversary photo session with Alaina & John in Washington DC was so much fun! It’s not often that I’m up for an early morning session, but they made it 100% worth it. Like, no joke, I’m scrolling through their photos and wondering how these two are so gorgeous! For their session, we went to the Jefferson Memorial and walked around the cherry blossoms at the Tidal Basin, both of which were stunning.
They are celebrating 3 years of marriage this summer (woohoo!) and I’m so excited for the both of them! I LOVE working with couples in general and celebrating different milestones with them! It’s always such a treat, especially with married couples. I’ve found in my 8 years of photography that they tend to be more comfortable and intimate with each other in front of the camera. And often, they have no problem goofing off with each other. Alaina & John were no exception! They were cute and funny, but also so sweet. We got so many great photos that I don’t think I’ll ever be able to pick a favorite!
I also have to say kudos to Alaina & John for being such troopers during their session. Why, you ask? Because the National Cherry Blossom Festival was literally right around the corner! Traffic and parking were crazy and people were everywhere! However, the beautiful weather and morning light made the mile-away parking spot and crowds of people totally doable. The Jefferson Memorial was gorgeous, and the cherry blossoms everywhere were so, so, beautiful!
I had such a blast with these two beautiful souls, and their beautiful smiles, candid laughter, and gorgeous coordinating colors speak for themselves in their photos. Such a fun session!
